Experienced Chimpanzee Caretakers

Stichting AAP - Experienced Chimpanzee Caretakers

At Stichting AAP we strive to make a dream come true in a professional way, namely: the shelter for abused or discarded exotic primates and small to medium-sized mammals from the whole of Europe.

The animals we shelter originate from the illegal animal trade, circuses, animal laboratories, or from private citizens. We try to improve the situation for most of the animals or look for a suitable re-homing address in zoos and in a variety of projects worldwide. If that does not succeed, then we have a permanent sanctuary in the south of Spain.

In addition, AAP actively exerts its influence on the relevant policy and decision-makers in both the Netherlands and Europe. We are now increasingly working together with other professional organisations in this regard. AAP is also an internationally respected centre of expertise.

AAP has around 70 paid employees and the same number of volunteers. The sanctuary is set in a spacious and modern location in the middle of the countryside around Almere.

Nowhere else can you see the direct results of your work so immediately: each animal that we take under our wing recovers and improves. You will find yourself in a tightly-knit group with very diverse colleagues. From animal carers to fundraisers: all working to achieve the same goal.

To lead the departments we are looking for several…
