Expressions of interest sought for a fixed-term Senior Animal Keeper (Term negotiable) at Cairns Wildlife Safari Reserve, North Queensland Australia


Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to live and work in one of the most beautiful areas of Australia in one of the most progressive Zoos in Queensland? We are looking for expressions of interest from an experienced keeper looking to expand their horizons and join an enthusiastic small team dedicated to providing world class care for our diverse exotic animal collection.

We are looking for a Senior Keeper with extensive experience in carnivore, ungulate and primate husbandry, with team leadership abilities. Reptile and amphibian husbandry experience would also be an advantage.

We have a strong focus on best practice husbandry, nutrition, preventative medicine and contemporary enrichment and conditioning techniques and are looking for a multi-talented, enthusiastic keeper dedicated to assisting us in maintaining our high animal care standards.

In the first instance, this position is to cover extended leave commitments for a period of approximately three months. However, we are willing to negotiate length of tenure with the right person, with the potential for long-term employment at our zoo.
