Experienced Zoo Keepers - Marwell Wildlife

Marwell Wildlife is a registered charity dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and the natural world, working in Africa and in Hampshire.

We are currently looking to recruit two keepers to work within the animal collection. One position is working on a mixed species section which includes small primates and birds, the other is on our carnivore section working with a wide range of species.

Previous experience is essential for the carnivore role and advantageous for the mixed species section.

The applicant should possess the Advanced National Certificate in the Management of Zoo Animals or related qualification.

Roles and responsibilities include daily animal husbandry, maintaining good health in the animals and keeping daily checks and records.

The chosen applicant is expected to be able to work well as part of a team, be hard-working, self-motivated and able to use their initiative. The applicant must possess good interpersonal skills including talking to members of the public which is an essential part of the role.

A full driving license is advantageous.

Successful applicants for vacancies with Marwell Wildlife may be required to have a Criminal Records Bureau check as a condition of employment.

Closing date: Monday 24th August. Interview dates: 1st and 2nd September 2009.
