EDUCATION OFFICER - Chester Zoo
Temporary (6 Month Contract)

Chester Zoo, one of Europe’s leading Zoological collections, has an active and award winning Education Division, now seeking an Education Officer on a 6-month contract to cover for maternity leave commencing the beginning of November. Work includes developing and delivering programmes that meet curriculum requirements for school and undergraduate courses as well as informal public education. Our approach to formal education is highly participatory so candidates will be expected to be outgoing and enthusiastic in their teaching style.

Applicants should have a Biology/Life Science degree, a good knowledge of natural history and conservation/environmental issues and a proven ability to communicate with a wide audience. A formal teaching qualification or equivalent experience is desirable. This post is subject to an enhanced CRB check. Please note that as a charitable trust, our salary scale is not based on LEA scales.

The 35 hour week may include occasional evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. The salary for this role is circa £18,000 pro rata.
