Animal Keeper - Edinburgh Zoo

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), a charity founded in 1909, owns and manages Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park. The Zoo is the 2nd most popular paying visitor attraction in Scotland, offering an excellent day out to more than 600,000 visitors annually, and has an international reputation for its very active conservation and education programmes. The Highland Wildlife Park is a premier visitor attraction based at Kincraig outside Aviemore and features indigenous Scottish species, some now extinct in the wild.



A vacancy has arisen for an Animal Keeper to work within the Animals, Conservation and Education Department team. It would be desirable if the successful candidate will have 3 years relevant experience working with primates and will have passed the Advanced National Certificate in the Management of Zoo Animals, or are happy to complete this course within 3 years.

The post will involve weekend and some evening work.



Salary for this post will be in the region of £13.000 - £16.000 depending on experience.
