Experienced Primate Keeper

Experienced Primate Keeper
Twycross Zoo, based in Leicestershire, is a registered charity and is famous for its collection of primates. We are proud of the work we do in conservation and education and take part in many captive breeding programmes for endangered animals. About three quarters of the animals housed at Twycross are classed as endangered species.
We need an experienced primate keeper to join one of our primate sections caring for callitrichides, spider monkeys, woolly monkeys, howlers, langurs, colobus and guenons. It is ideal if you have already achieved an animal-related qualification, but it is more important to have “hands on” experience of caring for primates. We are not looking for more trainee keepers at this point

Pay ranges from £15,735 pa for a Grade 2 Keeper up to £17,346 pa for a Senior Keeper.Grade is determined by the job holder’s level of competence, expertise and knowledge, not length of service. The shift pattern is 6 days on and 2 off and we offer 31 days holiday, uniform, 5% pension contribution and the possibility of on-site accommodation.

If you are interested, please send your CV with a covering letter to recruitment@twycrosszoo.org  or by post to Human Resources, Twycross Zoo, Atherstone, Warwickshire, CV9 3PX.

Closing date: apply immediately, we will appoint the right person as soon as we can.
