International Gorilla Conservation Programme - Communications Officer



The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), an international conservation organization headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, invites applications for the post of Communications Officer for the International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP), who will partner with IGCP staff to create and manage communications and media activities. The International Gorilla Conservation Programme is a coalition of African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), Fauna & Flora International (FFI) and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and it works in Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo to ensure the long-term survival of the endangered Mountain Gorilla and its afromontane habitat. This position reports to the IGCP Director and will be based in Kigali, Rwanda with regular travel to field offices and projects in Rwanda, Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo.


The successful candidate will be responsible for all communications and media activities both within IGCP and throughout its network of partners and supporters by creating, disseminating and managing content that informs staff and fellow mountain gorilla conservation professionals as well as publicizing IGCP’s work to a wider audience on a national and international level.
