Guests visit Chessington World of Adventures for Britain’s wildest day out, and the animals they encounter all add to the atmosphere of excitement and discovery.
This is a unique opportunity to educate adventurers young and old, to let them really explore our awesome Reptile collection at Chessington Resort.
About the role:
Working within the Reptile Team you will take an active role in the day to day running of our growing collection. This will include animal husbandry and duties such as feeding, cleaning and enrichment.
This is also a great time to move forward with us in conservation, education and research.
As the team and department develop, you will constantly be seeking ways to maximise adventurer experience, whilst maintaining high husbandry standards.
You will also be keen to support all areas within our Zoo, which will in turn benefit your own personnel development.
Key Objectives:
-Ensure Health and Safety of self, visitors and guests.
-Develop a personal training programme in conjunction with your Head of Section.
-Maintain the required records and documentation pertaining to your stock.
-Be confident in presenting your animals in an informative, educational and engaging manner.
-Maintain clear and direct communication in all directions.
About you:
Our ideal candidate will have solid experience of working with Reptiles and will ideally have a recognised qualification in captive animal management.
You will have a genuine passion for reptiles, invertebrates and amphibians, and will be confident working both alone and within a small team.
You will be flexible and dedicated in your approach to work, with high standards both personally and professionally.
Our ideal candidate will understand our family friendly resort brand, and will be an excellent communicator to engage our guests in our exciting Reptile collection across the park and hotel.
