Education Co-ordinator

Education Co-ordinator
Post -14 and Further Education

Join our vibrant organisation!

As an action oriented conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife’s desire is to connect people with nature. Through enthusing people about the wonders of the natural world we’re certain they’ll share our passion to conserve it. Our success relies on two key things. The impression we create through our 140 acre zoological park, Marwell Zoo, with its wide array of exotic and endangered species and the family of talented people we employ who share our passion and bring our vision to life.

A great opportunity has arisen for an Education Co-ordinator to join our team on a permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.

The Education Co-ordinator is responsible for the planning, development and delivery of the education programme for post 14 groups. Alongside other team members, the Education Co-ordinator will also participate in the delivery of the full range of formal education programmes.

Applicants must hold a degree and post graduate qualification or equivalent. One of these must be in Biological Sciences or a related discipline and the other in Education. Previous experience of teaching post 14 age groups and experience of curriculum/lesson planning are also a must. The successful candidate will have a passion and commitment to education, biodiversity, conservation and environmental protection.

Teaching sessions will include the use of live animals you will therefore need to be comfortable handling animals such as snakes, geckos, rats and insects. Experience of this is desirable but not essential as training will be given.

If you would like to join our unique and vibrant organisation and become part of our Marwell Family, please visit our website, marwell.org.uk for a full candidate brief and our electronic application form. This application form must be completed for you to be considered for this role.
