Trainee Animal Trainer and Presenter

Trainee Animal Trainer and Presenter
BANHAM ZOO

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Animal Trainer and Presenter to join our team.

The successful candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate animal training experience relevant to the zoo’s Bird of Prey and Amazing Animal displays and be familiar with positive operant conditioning. In addition to this, and a key requirement for the role, are excellent communication and public presentation skills.

Working under the direction of the Head of Animal Training and Presentations, you will already have at least 1 years’ experience working with and training exotic animals and your previous experience will complement the already high standard of training and presentation achieved by the department. An animal care related qualification/s would be an advantage but more important is the desire to interact both formally and informally with our guests at every opportunity, providing an additional educational experience that enhances their visit.

Salary is dependent on experience. This is a full time position (based on an average 40 hr week), some weekend working is required and there is no accommodation available with this position.

Visit our website www.banhamzoo.co.uk. Download and complete an application form and send it, with a covering letter (and your CV if you have one), explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this position to Andy Hallsworth,  Head of Animal Training & Presentation, Banham Zoo, The Grove, Banham Norfolk NR16 2HE or email it to andy.hallsworth@banhamzoo.co.uk

The closing date for applications is the 4th May 2016.
